Preventing Electoral Violence

Soaring electoral violence in transition and fragile environments requires understanding the broader landscape of the conflict and how that conflict can be managed. With important elections in Nigeria on the horizon in 2014, this workshop will examine specific examples from cases across Africa in order to analyze how electoral violence can be prevented and mitigated through effective strategic planning and policymaking.

Gospel Choir Concert

Her idea begins as flawed spectacle, faced with governmental, religious, and military blockade. But with each roadblock comes a more refined mission, until she realizes she can use new technologies to bypass the law–and train women to give themselves abortions using WHO-researched protocols with pills. Vessel is Gomperts’s story.
